HOW TO NAVIGATE THE COLLEGE FAIR

1_edited_edited.jpg

Step 1: Select the college tables to visit

The first step is to select the colleges you would like to visit by doing some research.

  • Not sure which colleges to visit? Start here, create a list, and cross-reference with the list of attending colleges to see which ones will be at the Fair. Each college will have its own table.

  • College visits will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This is your time to explore!

  • 9th-11th graders should consider choosing colleges that they know little about and avoid the very busy tables early where all the “ready to push submit” seniors will be asking their questions.

Step 2: Time to select your workshops  It is important to know what workshops you want to attend before arriving

Next, select the workshops you would like to attend for your sessions.

  • Review the workshop schedule below.

  • There will be three sessions and we recommend choosing two to attend. Parents and students can attend together or split up to maximize their time.

  • 9/10 graders should attend the Road Ahead Workshop.

  • Be sure to check back closer to the College Fair date for the final schedule.

On Fair Day:

  • Present your best self — dress professionally, smile, make good eye contact, and be polite.

  • Your handshake should be firm, but not overly so.

  • Practice introducing yourself - “hi, my name is (name), I am from (name of school), and I am a (year in school - freshman, sophomore, junior, senior).”
