Who: 7th-12th grade students, parents, and educators.

What: There is still time to plan your summer. Learn the FACTS to enhance your high school summer experiences. We will also share ideas for extra resources for those students looking for more support before college. Understand how you can EXPLORE ADDITIONAL STRATEGIES AND RESOURCES for success in college.  

Where: Virtual.

When: Tuesday, May 7, 2024, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm (MST).

Why:  Learn from experts who will share their advice on how students can plan their summers.

 

FACTS:

 

Fun: Relax, spend time with family and friends, read, exercise, and explore!

 

Academics & Activities:

• Learn a new subject, learn more about a subject you love, or take a class to fill in a gap.

• Learn a new sport or improve your skills.

• Join a music group, take an art, dance, or theater class.

• Learn more about the hundreds of academic and other summer programs, both online and in-person, that are available on college campuses in Colorado, around the country, and internationally and understand how these fit in with a well-rounded summer. Career/Summer Job/Internship: See how a part-time summer job or internship can help you learn new skills and learn more about yourself! Click here for a list of local opportunities.

 

Travel: Can be as simple as visiting your grandparents or other family. Attend a program on a U.S. college campus. You are a global citizen, attend an international program. Go beyond your comfort zone!

 

Service: Give back, there are 500+ nonprofits in the Western Slope of Colorado, many in your backyard, see how you can help others! Click here for a list of local non-profits.
